putting kcontrolslaz.lpk components on the IDE
« on: September 03, 2013, 03:25:29 pm »
Windows 7 x32, Lazarus 1.0.12, fpc 2.6.2, SVN revision 42478

My Lazarus resides in c:\lazarus
I have downloaded the zipfile for kcontrols.  I have extracted all the files to a folder K:\LazarusApps\Packages and clicked on the resultant Kcontrols.lpk, which brought up the Lazarus page for installing packages, so I clicked on 'Compile' and Lazarus complained about the use of several of the identifiers being deprecated but went on to "Compiling package KControlsLaz 1.2" completed.  I want to see the K components in Lazarus's components pallette.  I clicked on 'Use' and 'Yes' to rebuild Lazarus. The Lazarus message box reports:-
C:\lazarus\ide\lazarus.pp(133,1) Error: Can't create object file: C:\lazarus\units\i386-win32\win32\lazarus.o
C:\lazarus\ide\lazarus.pp(133,1) Fatal: Can't create object C:\lazarus\units\i386-win32\win32\lazarus.o
It must be me . . . . ?  But what to do to cure things?  Thank you in advance for instructions.
