strange. no further idea, where it could come from. Can you clear that directory and try to build lazarus-gtk2 again?

I suspect that the presence of "/usr/local/lib/fpc/2.6.2/units/x86_64- darwin/rtl" indicates leftovers from the installation from disk images. Can you please follow the instructions on http://wiki.freepascal.org/OS_X_Programming_Tips#Uninstalling_Lazarus_and_Free_Pascal
?

Hi

I have not tried installing the seperate images, since i re-installed the OS yesterday.

I did however run the script and commands form this page:

http://wiki.freepascal.org/Installing_Lazarus_on_MacOS_X#Uninstalling_Lazarus_and_Free_Pascal

After running this I now getting different error when I try to install the gtk2 version
make -C packager/registration
/bin/rm -f ../units/x86_64-darwin/fcllaz.ppu
/bin/mkdir -p ../units/x86_64-darwin

Just wondering whether I should knock the 10.8 ML on the head, and install 10.6.8 SL as this version is obviously working for you.

This is surely a valid option for you. I am still puzzled, why it fails on 10.8 and would like to know why, hoping i could fix it.

Sorry for the inconvenience you are experiencing.

I am more than happy to try anything you come up with.

So i'll leave the machine with 10.8 on and see if somehow the issue can be tracked down and fixed.

Of course assuming you have the time and inclination to help fix the issue.

Without the information requested in http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,21450.msg125405.html#msg125405 there is nothing I can do to help further, no matter how much inclination I bring to bear.

Hi Jonas,

Since then I have re-installed 10.8, as I wanted to make sure that my problems was not a mix of fink part install and package part installed.

So I thought I would just try the install via fink as it installs the extra bits and pieces for gtk2.

If you like I can try the package installs again, and attempt from them?

Just didn't want to confuse the issue with something additional getting installed.

in order to get rid of all lazarus and fpc from fink, execute "fink purge --recursive fpc-config".

Hi

I decided to install 10.6.8 and install via fink

Everything went fine first time, I now have it working.

Thank you all for your help in trying to get it to work on 10.8.
