What about Measurement, Automation and Communication Interfaces?

IMHO, RS*** fit better in Communication Interfaces, than in Hardware.
Thanks for the code options, I'll try when I solve some other issues. Currently I have simply copied the required DLLs in the app folder. I have not tried if I can copy a dummy file (zero byte something.dll).

Communication Interfaces would also imply software interfaces for e.g. decoding of certain web formats, what wouldn't fit here.

I would suggest Lazarus for Measurement, Automation, Hardware and Robotics in a try to sum up some earlier posts.

Seems fine to me but only because it gets too long, it could be simply Measurement, Automation, Hardware and Robotics.

This could be fine, the mentioned terms are actually more or less branches of technical cybernetics.

Among all suggestions Lazarus for Technical Cybernetics would be the best title.

Some visitors may have difficulties to understand it immediately, therefore I would suggest to adopt paskal's suggestion Measurement, Automation, Hardware and Robotics.

I am quite sure that it would take me a very long time to understand it, though if in the subforum description is written "Measurement, Automation, Hardware and Robotics" it would get me there, any way.

I agree, that was the reason why I suggested to adopt your proposal.

Well, so there is the final question- who shall add the subforum and how is he/she/it to be convinced?

What about adding it as a trial board to gauge if there's enough interest?

I think Lazarus could solve a lot of problems in the world of test and measurement. I'm currently planning a cross-platform pure pascal VISA implementation, and also have a SCPI parser in the works :)

Only 5 people concern it useful. Let's sat another 10 did not see the topic. Sound to me like "no one but me needs "Lazarus for measurement and automation".

Another vote for  Measurement, Automation, Hardware and Robotics.
Unless otherwise noted I always use the latest stable version of Lasarus/FPC x86_64-win64-win32/win64

Don't know who takes care of the forum, but it seems that he/she does not read the forum... Maybe it would be better to bring up this topic in the mailing list where you may find the correct audience. Or you could create a ticket in the bug tracker.
