Suggestion to make more easy to fix Bugs in the IDE.
« on: March 20, 2006, 07:34:55 am »
When I find a problem in a dialog, then I would like to look at the sourcecode of the IDE and try to fix it.
But the problem is, that I am using the german translation and it takes a long time until I find the unit that contains the dialog I am looking for.

So my suggestion:
Lazarus IDE could be startet with a command line parameter with the following purpose:
  - show the unit filename(or classname) of the dialog in the caption of the   window.

For instance today I found out, that the menuitem "Datei öffnen" (File open) in the Package Editor does not work.
To fix this problem I need to know the name of the unit containing the Package Editor.

Samuel Herzog

"File open" in the Package Editor works, but if the Source-Code Editor is minimized or in the background then you don't see anything happen.
So I click on "file open" the Source-Code Editor should come in front so the user gets notified that something happens.
