So,
WE must "explain" things for your user "wrong statements"
We understand very well...
Since I stirred up this hornet's nest, I have to clarify myself.
I appreciate the work of the CodeTyphon team and I use their components in my Lazarus installation.
CodeTyphon has done a terrific job of promoting the Pascal language. However I believe the original files for some of the components were modified (even if all they did was add "pl_" to the name of the component) because if one tries to install a CodeTyphon component with dependencies, such dependencies had better be the ones with the "pl_" prefix otherwise you're stuck.
In addition, some components were renamed completely. Last time I looked, the Lazarus component MapViewer, a component that allows you to use Google Maps in your applications
http://code.google.com/p/mapviewer/&
http://keit.co/p/tmapviewer/, was renamed to pl_GeoGIS. That looks like modification to me.
I believe we all need Sternas Stefanos to enlighten us on his work and clarify whatever modifications he made for the benefit of us all.
For example, their work in porting the Cindy components, LAVA/ORCA components could be of use to the larger Lazarus community. JD
