Linux lagging behind Windoze

Hi All,

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but does anyone know when we are going to get the new MySQL55Connection1 in the Linux release?

I am running Lazarus 1.08, fpc 2.6.2 on my windows machine but cannot compile my source code on my Ubuntu 12.04 Server as the version of Lazarus for download is still 0.9.something!

Hi All again,

Looks like I have been a bit of a wally!!

It appears that the Ubuntu repository is the one that is lagging. I have just had a dig around in SourceForge and found 1.08!!

I'll let you know how I get on with it later in the week.

Ubuntu repo's typically lag at least 6 months.

I can't seem to get Ubuntu to dual boot on my Dev box, (Think my Install CD is s****ed!!).
I have installed Debian 6.04 with Gnome Desktop Manager 3.

I have downloaded and successfully installed Lazarus 1.0.8, FPC 2.6.2, i386-linux-gtk2.

I have replaced the MySQL50Connection in my project with a MySQL55Connection, rebuilt, recompiled and attempted to run it.

I am STILL getting an error, now it seems I need libmysqlclient.so.18 !!!
This file was present on my Live Server, so I may have a go at getting the latest Lazarus running on that, but if someone could tell me how to get libmysqlclient version that I need now, I would be most grateful.  I don't like to muck about with my live server too much for obvious reasons!!

Make sure you have the 5.5 mysql client libraries installed, including the -dev version.

Why do you want to use mysql anyway? Postgresql and Firebird don't break compatibility for each small update and may have a much better licensing situation for you.
