Convert .dpk to .lpk
« on: April 19, 2013, 05:33:16 pm »
Hello everyone!

I have some source code for a component that worked with Delphi 7, and I would like to port it over to Lazarus 1.0.8.

It relies on the VirtualTreeView component (which I installed)...

Is there a simple conversion article out there on how to convert the .dpk over to a .lpk?

Thanks!
-Joe

Did you see the actual conversion of VirtualTreeView to lazarus?

Use Tools -> Convert Delphi package to Lazarus package ...

http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Delphi_Converter_in_Lazarus  (the screenshot here should be updated)

For best results I recommend Lazarus trunk. Please report about your success. I have tested the project conversion more than package conversion myself.
Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux.

Thank you!  I tried that, and here's what I got:
XML parser error in file: c:\project_files\Delphi\Lazarus\....\..dpk
Error:  In 'stream:' (line 1 pos 1):  Illegal at document level.
