Search records with ';' in text field

Hi,

I use laz0.9.12, fpc2.0.2 and sqldb package to access a firebird database.
Now I want to search for records containing any strings. I notice that if a string contains the char ; (#59) the query raises the error "Unexpected end of command" (query: select * from table where field containing ';').
How can I solve this?
May be it isa bug in the internal pasing of the query. But I don't know.
