Lazarus 1.0.8 release available for download

The Lazarus team is glad to announce the release of Lazarus 1.0.8.

This is a bug fix release, built with the new fpc 2.6.2. The
previous release 1.0.6 was built with 2.6.0.

The release is available for download at SourceForge:

Choose your CPU, OS, distro and then the "Lazarus 1.0.8" directory.

Minimum requirements:
Windows:       98, 2k, XP, Vista, 7, 32 or 64bit
FreeBSD/Linux: gtk 2.8 or qt4.5, 32 or 64bit
Mac OS X:      10.5, LCL only 32bit, non LCL apps can be 64bit

For people who are blocked by SF, the Lazarus releases from SourceForge

Thanks for the update, Lazarus and FPC Rocks.

I love how I am up and running in a few minutes when a new release of Lazarus comes out, even with the new compiler I had all my components and the IDE rebuilt in minutes, with Delphi I would spend forever re installing all the components, it was such a pain that I would simply not bother to upgrade to XE3 for example even though I had access to it.

If anyone wants some excellent and free DSP components to embellish their latest installation of Lazarus, try these two offerings from Antillasoft: http://antillasoft.com/main/en/mndescargasen/21-catdownloadscomponents/catdownloadscomponentspascal  Forward and reverse FFTs plus IIRs!  Not sure if they work with the 64-bit version though.

You can only appreciate Lazarus after you're left out in the cold by other presumably "better" languages. I certainly do have an appreciation for Lazarus/FreePascal now, coming from one of those.

you could always take a look at ftp://freepascal.dfmk.hu/pub/lazarus/snapshots/, this site seems to be uptodate with the snapshots (I even see a Lazarus 1.09 already).
