[Resolved] Where to find my compiled package or app?
« on: January 28, 2013, 04:10:24 pm »
Hi,

My great wish is to programm applicatins under mac os x. I'm Pascal/Delphi programmer since long time, but I still have no success with both Delphi XE2 and Lazarus. The problem with a Delphi is clear - the features of FireMonkey are very limited and only simple applications are possible. I love Lazarrus, it is great under Windows, installation, usage, all is easy. Under Mac OS X my great problem is that I cannot find the compiled package, dmg (like in RealBASIC and Delphi XE) or *.app. Many times I tried to find in this forum something that could help me, but nothing, all possible problems, but not my. I have used the Application Bundle Option, but still not understood how that all work. If I send the project file to other mac user (on my machine I can run this file bydouble click), they are not able to run it.

I can see great improvements in Lazarus since version 1.xx is available. I feel me with Lazarus like at home, but this "litle" problem stop me to use this great software. Any help that solve this problem is  welcome.

best regards

Ivan

With a sample project, try Project=>Publish project into a clean directory. Then zip/compress the files in that directory and attach them to a post.

Perhaps an OSX Lazarus user can then tell you what is wrong.

Also, please specify your OS and Lazarus version (see my signature).

Thanks.

The contents of the thread http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,16342.0.html may help, especially on the second page.

Thanks for the link! It seems to be right solution for me. I was able to create a simple "hello world" and send the app to friend, that was able to run them on his macbook. I will try now to skip the script/terminal window and to apply own icon, and finally after success will post that the issue was  resolved. Lazarus and Free Pascal are great products!

Hi,

I'm for first time happy with Lazarus, because finally understood, how to make my application bundle (using the link: http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,16342.0.html). Attached is my first project in Lazarus (HelloWorld) - project source including my own icon for the app. Thanks to jwdietrich and BigChimp for the long searched help from me. Finally I can programming with Lazarus under Mac OS X like with my Delphi under Windows. I'm happy, I'm home!
