We need some nice Powered by or Built with Lazarus Logos
« on: December 06, 2012, 05:12:49 pm »
Did a google search and all I could find was the tiny image on the FreePascal home page.

Lazarus is getting more popular now and it would be nice to have some cool looking built with Logos to include in about or help dialog boxes.

Unfortunately I am not a very good graphic artist :-(  or I would build some.

If I forget, I always use the latest stable 32bit version of Lazarus and FPC. At the time of this signature that is Laz 1.8 and FPC 3.0.4
OS: Windows 10 64 bit

there was some talk about adding an "about form" to the file->new.. list of templates like dephi has.  I'm still stuck on an older rev of lazarus, did this happen for the new release?

IMHO, this would be the best place to put a list of ions options for us to use.
windows 7/10 - laz 2.0 / 1.2.6 general releases

Of course there is also the golden oldie "built with" logo, which still suits me fine.
I think all energy should be put in making Lazarus/FreePascal better and better and not in some logo restyling.

You are right, our priority should be software quality and not design.

I actually like that oldie. Any others?

That's true. software quality should be top priority. There is no major problem with the design. I would like to believe that people have good intentions and if they so desire, that maybe they can be given a chance to express their ideas. Of course, they should be just ideas which will be given due consideration in due time. And accepted or not - nothing personal and no hard feelings.

I am happy to see this kind of comments.

Sorry for being cranky during the picture-debate, it just felt so useless and out of topic during the web page feature debate, and also compared to other important tasks.
What happened is explained well in "Parkinson's law of triviality", also known as "color of the bike shed" effect.
  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkinson's_law_of_triviality
Anyone who participated in the splash screen debate, please read it with thought.
In this case the comparison between a bike shed and an atomic reactor is very good because the complexity factor between a new picture and Lazarus internals is about the same.

In case someone has extra free time, there are many things to fix and improve in Lazarus.
If needed, we can collect some relatively easy tasks.

Are there higher resolution images of these logos and banners?
