Which Versions For Android?
« on: November 01, 2012, 10:36:23 pm »
Hello,

I am looking for some up to date information on Android Development with Free Pascal.

These are the versions I have installed presently.
Code: [Select]
$ fpc
Free Pascal Compiler version 2.6.0 [2012/08/24] for i386
Copyright (c) 1993-2011 by Florian Klaempfl and others
/usr/lib/fpc/2.6.0/ppc386
Code: [Select]
$ lazarus-ide --version
1.0.2 SVN Revision: exported

I am running these on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.  The repository versions are 2.4.4 and 9.30.2.

Is it possible to use the versions I currently have installed?

I have seen two different sets of crossinstall parameters.  One uses binutils and the other uses the tool chain from the Android NDK.  So I have some confusion about the correct method to setup Free Pascal for Android development.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Regards,
Brian

Thanks.  It looks interesting. I'll give it a try.

What about results? Could you give a working "example project"?

Unfortunately work is still underway to the Linux version (07-Nov-2012). The cross compiler 'arm-android' did not build.
I was not able to compile the Lazarus sample project using arm-linux, but I could compile a simple hello-world console app.  CodeTyphon is a nice tool to setup the FPC/Lazarus environment.

Arm-android element working only on windows. On linux host it doesn't working yet. I reported this issue some timess ago:
