Does anyone know how I do advise to save an image to a file rtf?

I'm using Lazarus for Linux and need to use the library GTK2.
I tried using Base64, but I think that is not correct.
The component RichMemo does not work in the current version of Lazarus.
I'm creating my own solution and I need help with this type of images Jpeg, PNG and BMP.
