Please update or remove Twitter section from lazarus.freepascal.org

(1/1)

BigChimp:
As also reported on the Lazarus ML: the Twitter section of the main page has not been updated.

It still mentions Lazarus 0.9.30.4 instead of 1.0RC1

I'd suggest either removing it or updating it (presumably by tweeting).

Thanks,
BigChimp

But 0.9.30.4 is still the latest stable Lazarus version, isn't it? Lazarus 1.0 RC1 is not a release, it is only release candidate. Version 1.0 will be probably announced only when it gets actually released.

BigChimp:
Zoran, you're right. However, see the next 2 tweets:

--- Quote ---LazarusDev: Release candidate 2 of Lazarus 0.9.30.2 is available for download from http://t.co/nwo89AIX. More info at http://t.co/bYQdecIr
LazarusDev: Week 43: Number of open issues for the next releases after #Lazarus 0.9.30.2: target 0.99: 46 (-15); target 1.0: 209 (-4). Good progress.
--- End quote ---
So: release candidates were mentioned anyway... and we've got a very ambiguous message about "week 43" (which year? => 2011 at the latest)...

Some updates are surely in order.

I'd at least expect some announcement like:
--- Quote ---LazarusDev: Release candidate 1 of Lazarus 1.0 is available for download. Please help work on 1.0 by testing and reporting bugs.
--- End quote ---

Alternatively, if nobody is interested in tweeting these updates (which would seem to be the case), removing the entire functionality may be a better option so people don't get confused about the project status.

Thanks,
BigChimp

I agree.
