Is it possible to write an operating system with Lazarus?

Hi all;

I wonder if it possible to write an operating system with Lazarus? extremely brief answer if you have it 32 or 64-bit graphics-based operation as an example to share? (I'm not mistaken, MACOS written with Pascal)
