TIOBE Programming Community Index for January 2012
http://www.tiobe.com/index.php/content/paperinfo/tpci/index.html

"Delphi/Object Pascal" moved up to 11th place from 12th place last January.
Only 1.6%.  (The leader was Java with 17%)

"Pascal" came in at 14th place.

Maybe Delphi has now better results due to release of their XE2 RAD with FireMonkey.
Now Delphi/Object Pascal and Pascal have 1.576 + 0.798 = 2.374%, it is good.
Lazarus 2.3.0 (rev main-2_3-2863...) FPC 3.3.1 x86_64-linux-qt Chakra, Qt 4.8.7/5.13.2, Plasma 5.17.3
Lazarus 1.8.2 r57369 FPC 3.0.4 i386-win32-win32/win64 Wine 3.21

Try Eye-Candy Controls: https://sourceforge.net/projects/eccontrols/files/

The fact that both Pascal and Object Pascal, even with they're treated as separate entries, never go out of big 20 say something about our lovely language...

That is the absurdity for me. Why separate the two?
Windows - Lazarus 2.1/FPC 3.2 (built using fpcupdeluxe),
Linux Mint - Lazarus 2.1/FPC 3.2 (built using fpcupdeluxe)

mORMot; Zeos 8; SQLite, PostgreSQL & MariaDB; VirtualTreeView

There were even 3 entries (Pascal, Object Pascal, Delphi). I emailed them a few months back (still 3 entries ATM) and they replied that the entries got separated because they have separated entries in wikipedia. Then my head thought they should make separate entries for MC VC++, GCC, etc. because they have their own wiki entries as well. Nevertheless, about a month after that, they merge Delphi and Object Pascal as Delphi/Object Pascal, and simply Object Pascal nowadays. FYI, there was also Free Pascal entry, I don't know if they've merged it to Object Pascal or not. What a damn conspiracy to kill this language (which I think they would never be able to).

The problem is that they base it on google searches, so the programming language statistics comes from searches such as "object pascal jobs", or "Java jobs"

Java is not an easy language to learn. To learn it you need to google in every step, how to do this in Java, how to implement that in Java... that makes it #1 in TIOBE index.
This gives me an idea to create new blog (started yesterday) containing questions for the people who want to learn from internet, take a look:

Guys
My opinion

This site/company has products for java and C#, so these statistics are not acceptable.
"Promotion" is common strategy of scripted-programming (like  java and C#)
people/companies.

a way to the "I am real programmer" fairytale...   :D

Updated index for June '12, which shows Delphi/OP moving up strongly from 14th to 12th place vs June '11.  However, I'm confused, as the Jan '12 listing showed Delphi/OP moving from 12th to 11th place.

And as others pointed out, Pascal (in 16th place) should be merged with Delphi/OP.  Doing so would move Delphi/ObjectPascal/Pascal into 10th place.

Where's the confusing point? The index is updated monthly and languages could go up and down anytime.
