Suggestion: Possible to show the Version of FreePascal?
« on: December 13, 2005, 07:37:28 am »
Hello NG,

would it be possible to show the version of the FreePascal Compiler somewere ? Maybe in the About Box of Lazarus or in the Compiler Settings ?

I ask this because I get a compiler crash and I would like to report it to FPC.
Therefore it would be nice to see the version.

Thanks.

Just type "fpc" on a terminal. The first line witch appears is the compiler version.

A Terminal, on Windows, can either be: DOS Prompt, Cygwyn or Ming

If FPC is not on your PATH you may need to go to where it is, but it is probably on the path.

Project -> Compiler Options -> Test.

At about a third I find:
Code: [Select]
Free Pascal Compiler version 2.1.1 [2005/12/06] for i386
