Hi, I've just bought an iMac (Mac OS X v. 10.7.3) and installed Xcode, fpc Intel MacOsx and Lazarus.

When I launch Lazarus, it manages to compile an empty form only. If I place a control whatsoever on the form and try to edit, for example, the onClick event, I get an error message telling me that there was an error in TDefaultComponentEditor. It also tells me that the unit "Classes" was not found.

What have I done wrong?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It may be similar to this on the Ubuntu installation

Use Lazarus and Free Pascal and stand on the shoulders of giants . . . very generous giants. Thank you.

IT WORKED!!! I did what you had suggested in the other thread, i.e. I selected the Rescan option and now it seems to work.

Thank you very much indeed.
