Lazreport using text files

Uaing Lazarus to edit csv files, about 300 records, everything works well.  Added  Lazreport and when I add fieldsand preview the report only the first record in the table appears rather than the total list of records.  In the tfreport properties I cannot get it to accept a dataset name.  Am using datasource1, tsdfdataset as MemData, and tfRoport1.  The fields are available and can be selected for the report but on review only the first record is presented.   Anything I put into the tfReport dataset property throws an "improper property value".   Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

inside what kind of band you placed your field objects?

Thanks, haven't used lazarus and the lazreport for several years and forgot about the banding.  Thanks for you help, I thought I had a more serious oversight.
