Windows Vista hasn´t being released yet and won´t be in this year.

Also, Vista will surely be backwards compatible (at least with XP), so Lazarus will work on it without any changes. Just install as usual.

Please when I compile my programs with Lazarus on some older Windows version (including XP), will they run on Vista as well? Does this cause some known problems?

By Delphi, this is the case. Programs compiled with Delphi 5 on XP won't run correctly on Vista.

I have a program compiled with Lazarus that runs on Vista. But you cannot assume that is the case. You have to test it in Vista. Microsoft created too many differences in Vista, that your program has to take into account. You cannot expect Delphi, Lazarus or any programming tool to do that for you.

Thank you, tech-pro (Julian) for your comments.

I am pretty sure that I cannot be sure about what my program does if compiled anywhere and run elsewhere :-) Namely, on Vista.

We will test it.
