PostgreSQL - Lazarus
« on: August 27, 2005, 11:12:58 am »
Hi Guys!

First problem:
Which version of PostgreSQL can I use with SQLDB or PSQL component?
The PSQL 0.4.6 isnt work with Postgres 8.0.3.
SQLDatabase is ok, SQLDataset is ok but when i put Datagrid to the form and set the Dataset property the grid freez.
Can the SQLDB connect to PostgreSQL 7 or 8?

Second problem:
The PostgreSQL is absolutely free. The mySQL is free for home users but the licence is 200EUR for commercial using. There are any FREE database server? (and lazarus component for it?)

Thank you very much, and sorry for my ugly english!

Firebird.

http://www.ibphoenix.com

About components:
Zeos - see in this forum
UIB - http://www.progdigy.com/modules.php?name=UIB
FIBL - http://sourceforge.net/projects/fibl/
SQLDB - in the components directory of your lazarus installation

I don't use UIB but I think is possible to set the correct configuration in the [parameters] field of the database component
