tMenuitem Focus event missing

In my application, I want to get a text information in a tLabel or tMemo field when the user selects a menu item with the mouse without clicking on it. The only event for tMenuItem is OnClick. In WDsibyl, there's an OnItemFocus event. A tMenuItem.Focused or .Selected property is also missing so I can't use a timer which queries all Menuitems. In Delphi, the functionality is also missing. I really wonder if I'm the fist programmer with this problem?
