How to set de unit serch path
« on: August 03, 2005, 09:57:10 pm »
I tried to install a component but didn't work because it can't find the units like Forms, Grids, etc.
In a standard project, I can't use something like MyUnit (Where MyUnit is a unit made by me) but Forms and Grids are accepted. When I try to install a package neither Forms or Grids are accepted.
In Compiler options I can see many places where to place the units paths, so I try some combinations but did not work.
Somebody know where should I put the units search paths (The equivalent of "Library Path" in Delphi)

It probably can't find the FPC Source Directory. It is on Environment > Environment Options

It should be set to the directory where FPC is. You may install FPC 2.0.0 via a rpm package (if you are on linux). It already comes with lazarus for windows AFAIK.

Then, you may want to recompile your lazarus just to make sure everything is ok. Go to Tools > Build Lazarus

If lazarus is correctly built but you still can't install the component, then something else is wrong....

Have you added LCL on "required packages" of your component package?
