setting windows color and transparency

I'm looking for a mac api similar to the windows api used here

Reading the mac docs I found

(the setting a windows color transparency) paragraph dealing with window opacitiy is exactly what I want however I'm new to mac and havn't been able to get the piece of code to work in xtools let alone in lazarus.

any help appreciated.
