Is there any sample application available showing how to connect to an ODBC or ADO Data Source ?

I saw there's a TDataSource and numerous data controls, but I couldn't find any data provider/connection components...

says that there exists
(i) a sample program called testodbc
and (ii) an oop wrapper around ODBC.

You might try them.
