CPickSniff2 - color picker tool
« on: March 09, 2011, 01:29:34 pm »
Hey all,
I have released a new version of CPickSniff, which also moved to sourceforge.

New features:
- you can give a name to each color
- you can copy the color code on a right click
- you can import/export your 10 colors from/to files :)
- Copy colors is now possible in Web Color (from "#000000" to "#FFFFFF")
  in RGB (from "(0, 0, 0)" to "(255, 255, 255)")
in TColor (from "$000000" to "$FFFFFF")
- Implemented scaledpi
- Hints added
- Reorganised UI & Menus

I hope web developer will use this great tool (especially on Linux, where we all needed to open Gimp to get a color code ^^)

Note: please don't hesitate to tell me here if you have suggestions to improve it or to report bugs.

Best Regards,
Fabien Wang

* Right click > menu >  copy color as TColor / copy color as RGB...
* Make High DPI awareness for Windows 7 ( http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/High_DPI )
* Add 'Hints' like 'drag an drop color here' or something :)

Thankyou!
* If you like aero glass see here http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Aero_Glass
* Add a rectangle in 'the air' (like the color preview around mouse cursor) showing color codes in rgb, web and tcolor.

lainz, thanks for your suggestions.
I don't think that seeing the color codes in the air would be really useful for designers,
but i'll think about it.

About the aero glass, i tested it worked, but if i had the same color that is reserved to the aero glass effect, then i lose my color, it becomes transparent :D, which is sad:
GlassForm(Form1,clBlue); << can't use pure blue anymore in cpicksniff.

I can't lose 1 color so i will not implement glass effect. sorry ^^

Yes it has sense!

But try to update the color codes in the cpicksniff window like an 'auto update' option, to change the color codes at mouse movement, i need it to see 'fast' if the color i'm picking isn't the same as current selected color (when picking very similar color's in very zoomed pictures).
