Isn't it so that 2.43 is a development version and that its stable version should be 2.44?
When I see a stable version 2.42 I expect it to be the product of development version 2.41.
But I never saw a snapshot 2.41, all recent Lazarus snapshots have 2.43 .
So I agree, there is room for confusion.

there have been 2.4.1 versions, till the 2.4.2 version was tagged for release. Once that happened, 2.4.1 became 2.4.3.

Cheers  :D

I've rebuilt LCL and Lazarus with it, with no problems (WIN32).

Mike,
What was your procedure for doing that? I was going to do it but I noticed this release does not include the "source" folder that I see in the FPC 2.2.4 folder (as installed with Lazarus 0.9.28.2).

You must download the sources separately -- http://www.freepascal.org/down/source/sources-ftp.freepascal.org.var (you don't need the fpcbuild... files, just chose one fpc-2.4.2.source... file to download). Install fpc, download the source and extract it in a folder, preserving the file tree structure. Then adjust paths in Lazarus menu (Enviroment -> Options -> Enviroment -> Files). Then rebuild Lazarus with "Clean up + build all".

Yes, as above.

Although it worked fine on my laptop, it failed to build properly on my desktop machine (both Windows XP) - problems with INet...

I might wait for the the bundled version for the desktop.

Hm...
Install fpc, download the source and extract it in a folder, preserving the file tree structure. Then adjust paths in Lazarus menu (Enviroment -> Options -> Enviroment -> Files). Then rebuild Lazarus with "Clean up + build all".

If you don't know how to do some particular step... Please ask precisely...
