Reenen:
How do I create a line in the mainmenu?

In Delphi/Kylix you just make
 caption := '-';

It works the same in Lazarus. You will not see it in the Menu editor but you will see it during runtime.

Roman:
The menu separator line is invisible in Linux Mint (32-bit). Can I change the color of the line?

Start a new topic rather than appending to an old one which is only marginally related. make sure you specify the version of Lazarus and Mint, and also what window manager etc. Mint uses: it's not reasonable to expect everybody to be familiar with it.

Thank you for the warning, I'll do so next time.
Lazarus is version 2.2.2 with FPC 3.2.2. System is LinuxMint 19.1 (tessa), GNOME 3.28.2 (Ubuntu), Kernel 4.15.0-188-generic (#199-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 15 20:42:32 UTC 2022). I hope, that will suffice.
I expected that line color is somewhere user definable.
