Title: Lazarus trunk: I can't save the IDE settings
Post by: zoltanleo on May 31, 2017, 04:16:09 pm
I use the lazarus.cfg file to specify other way to the Lazarus settings. The file with settings is near an executable file of lazarus.exe
The problem is in what on the Windows IDE doesn't save some settings of the interface (for example, a toolbar, code insight and another), but IDE saves settings very well on Linux (Debian)

It is a bug?

Open "Manage desktops" and check "auto save actve desktop". Or save your desktop manually after you change the toolbars.

See http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/IDE_Window:_Desktops (http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/IDE_Window:_Desktops)

Wow  :o

I didn't know that any IDE settings and editors remain together with a desktop now. Thanks.

You can have several desktops, each for use on different situation. For example: desktop for layout, desktop for coding, desktop for debugging, etc. You can switch to other desktop easily if you the put the desktop icon on the toolbar. See the image below.

Also, you can customize the toolbar (on the top of the Source Editor) to suit your need.

Lazarus is full of surprises if you dig into it.
