Oh,well...

I have send an email to a contact there at Kaspersky.

Anyway: Lazarus is not a unique entity.

FreePascal is.... O:-) 8-)

[Maybe Off-topic] I hate avast False Positives with my applications. Do you have any contact there? (It should be a joke.)

I had False Positives with Delphi 6 too.  I think it is a conspiration against Pascal.  >:(

does anyone have any avast warnings when turning on GDB debug options in lazarus
(the option to write symbols, external  to a file, AFAIR)

That's when I get the warnings

Yes, embeded debug information uses some technics and structs that are detected by heuristic antivirus algorithms as virus.  Can't do anything with it.
