Error running component editor for TImageList

ok I double click on the TImageList and I get a error dialog with this message on it:

The component editor of class "TImageListComponentEditor"  has created the error "Unable to find method. Plz fix the error shown in the message window."

and message is:
 
/home/grizzlysmit/Projects/lazurus/examples/00/unit1.pas(9,23) Error: unit not found: ExtCtrls

any help please
