TClientDataset equiavalent

hello one and all,

i am brand new to lazarus/FPC for i was using delphi/kylix for 11 years.  anyway, i would like to know if there is a TClientDataset equivalent in FPC?

specially, i like that you can pull from a database and store it locally as an XML file, and then allows you to open that file and the data within without having to query the database again.  also, i liked the in-memory indexing features so i can reindex on-the-fly without having to requery the database for just a "order by" change.

any suggestions on that TClientDataset stuff under FPC?
