OpenCL
« on: December 10, 2008, 05:17:55 pm »
Hi all,

Today OpenCL has become an official standard.
There is (or will in the near future) a porting Lazarus/FPC?

I think it is a critical strategic move to spread of Lazarus.

Thank you.

PS I'm sorry about my poor english!

Why Lazarus team instead of FPC team? Can we build new widgetset on it?

yes you are right.
It's a lttle bit confusing for a newcomer from delphi world as the compiler and the ide was made both by borland and was integrated.

In fact, if i understand well, the fpc team is dedicated to the pascal compiler and language
And your team is dedicated to the IDE part.

It's an IDE over FPC.

Let's try some SE  ;)

As it can be a good idea, we can suggest that to the FPC team.
But if you think it's a good idea too, may be you're in touch and by the way, you want to suggest this in the hollow of the ear of let's say... someone  :'(

nice try isn'it?

you can download pascal headers from here.
but i don't know how can you use it, because there's no any compiled library available

 :) Hello :)
In the case that you are interested, there is an example that compiles with both ATI and NVIDIA:
https://sourceforge.net/p/cai/svncode/HEAD/tree/trunk/lazarus/opencl/trillion-test/
 :) Have fun :)
