http://wiki.freepascal.org/ Cannot be reached
Raf20076:
Hi guys
I wanted to create an account on http://wiki.freepascal.org/ but the website cannot be reached.
Sometimes could be reached but It's impossible to create an account because there is always captcha error
- you have to add two numbers and give result - if you do it correctly still you get captcha error.
I'm using Debian Linux I have no problem to reach any website except http://wiki.freepascal.org/
I found out that website is hosted on dfmk.hu (freepascal.dfmk.hu (193.224.143.39)
Ping cannot reach ping wiki.freepascal.org
I don't if it's my problem or on host site? Have you got any ideas?
Thanks

Is your chaptcha soloution correct :-) Years ago i was to fast and used the false soloution. After a slow rereading i was able to create an account. You have to think a pascal way, not only a simple addition.
The site have IMHO some security to prevent spammers.I have no problems to access the site. Have you a proxy or an other non standard browser ? If you access with an non standard request, it will be avoided.

Hi
I use Firefox-esr and I connect without proxy (in Firefox the connection is set to - connect without proxy)
but even when I don't use any browser - just terminal, in terminal I give command - ping wiki.freepascal.org
and it cannot be reached, so the server on which is wiki.freepascal.org cuts off ping.
I have no problem with other websites.
OK. I've noticed when I used proxy I can reach website? :o

If you fail the captcha too often, your IP-address gets blocked for a week. This is a protection measure against bots that try to make spam accounts.
Note that the captcha asks you what writeln('XY' + 'ZQ') prints. Even though X, Y, Z and Q are numbers, they are strings since they are between quotes. It's a way to mislead bots since they will detect the numbers and add them up, instead of concatenate them. Maybe you also made that mistake?

Hi.
Sorry to reply to this old thread. I don't want to create another one with the same topic.
I too am not able to open wiki.freepascal.org. It timeouts on me every time and ends with "Server not found".
downforeveryoneorjustme.com reports the site is down for everyone.
What is happening? Is there any other way to browse the documentation? A mirror?
Can it be downloaded somehow and used locally?
Please fix it.
Cheers.
