FPC Support in Emacs Planning
« on: December 05, 2018, 04:15:18 pm »
Hi,

I have plan to integrate FreePascal into Emacs editor which have an existing Pascal mode.

But I have concerns and need help with the following questions:
1. Where could I find the standard semantic documents of the FreePascal?
2. Is it possible to integrate the magnificent auto completion feature in the Lazarus IDE into another editor or program, in this case Emacs?

Any help would be grateful.

Cheers

marcov

What will you use as editor ? O:-)

1 Easiest I think is trying to follow the fcl-passrc parser.
2 Not likely.

Hi marcov,

Thanks for the help, fcl-passrc sounds interesting.

For current job, I am using Emacs as my editor. But I use Lazarus-IDE for pascal programming only of course. Yes I love both of the editors.

As for the implementation, I might use the client-server architecture between the editor and the services. So the services can be used also by any client editor independently. This architecture actually is inspired by the Go programming language.

I will figure out how this will work and let the forum know.
