what is the latest FPC documentation in PDF format ?
« on: November 24, 2018, 05:12:14 am »
Hello,

I have the FPC documentation in PDF format. In that format, the "newest" I found is for FPC version 3.0.2 dated February 2017.

Is there a newer PDF version of the FPC manuals (for 3.0.4 instead of 3.0.2) ? (Programmer's Guide, User's Guide, etc) and if so, where can they be downloaded from ?  (Google has not shown anything newer than for FPC 3.0.2 in PDF format)

Thank you.
(FPC v3.0.4 and Lazarus 1.8.2) or (FPC v3.2.2 and Lazarus v3.2) on Windows 7 SP1 64bit.

Not sure where you're looking, but various 3.0.4 pdf files are listed on https://www.freepascal.org/docs.var.

Thank you.  Obviously I've been looking in the wrong places... chuckle.

Aside:
For the real documentation status 3.2.0. or trunk you need to build it yourself.
That may be an eye opener. (the content) Note that building the docs is not very easy - to me - except on Linux. (Or maybe especially on Windows it is tricky).
It is well worth the effort. Once you know how, you have the latest.

Object Pascal programmers should get rid of their "component fetish" especially with the non-visuals.
