This shadow is alright, though I was more thinking of a shadow like the one you rendered. To do this one, we can use a perspective transform to be at the bottom of the icon. The pen is not in the same direction so it needs to be done separately.

By doing so, the shadow will definitely go outside of the image, so I moved the pencil a bit. Also I stretched a bit the sky-blue drop.

I rendered it in 512x512 pixels. I've put the files in lazpaint/icon folder.

Can you render it in 1024x1024 with your brand new blender?

Done, I've put the file in the same folder.

Seems that the way I used to create the paint drops is not available in blender 2.8 alpha (they appear but are flat), so I finally rendered with 2.79.

Nice Logo,

Can this be created with LazPaint?
Or even programmed with BGRABitmap
Would make for a good demo, using shapes, curves, shadows, textures etc.

The best way to get accurate information on the forum is to post something wrong and wait for corrections.

Well the shadow was made with LazPaint, and it is possible to do some 3D with BGRABitmap, but here this is raytracing.

Thanks Lainz. It must have taken hours to compute the icon.

I have update LazPaint program with the new icon.

I've made an ICO file with all sizes. Can someone check the ICO file to see if it is all generated and stored properly ? It seems that Lazarus could not read properly the size 20.

Tested with Lazarus and Greenfish Icon Editor Pro, all icon sizes are displayed ok.

Thanks for testing.

So it could be a bug in Lazarus that appears only on Linux or that has been fixed already (using old Lazarus 1.6).

I suppose it is all good then.  :)

Great! Still I think the old icon is looking better...

But anyways, we can keep improving it.

As the icon's size get smaller is better to have a simpler version of the icon instead of a resized image. Textures and complex geometry becomes "noisy" and harder to comprehend in short: what looks good on 64x64 pixels won't necessarily look good on 24x24 pixels.
I would reduce the texture footprint and simplify the shape of colors splat for the low-res icons and keep the biggers ones the way you are doing it right now.

Looks great in the fpc fp editor:
Object Pascal programmers should get rid of their "component fetish" especially with the non-visuals.

@garlar: that's definitely true. I adjusted a bit the smaller sizes but there is room for improvement.
@Thaddy: thanx for checking
