LazPaint Icon

Hi, I wanted to make a better LazPaint icon, keeping the original idea of a pallete, but I added as well a pencil, what do you think?

I noticed that when I edited the bitmap to adjust lightness, I've added an extra shadow that must be removed.

Anyway is a concept, that can be improved.

That's great.

Those colored paint dots with the lighting are great. I guess it would be great to make them bigger, so that we can see the lighting effect on them even when the icon size is a bit small.

Nice blender render.

Based on lainz's image, I redrew it using Inkscape. Mine is not very good, but if anyone good in using Inkscape you can improve it. The svg file is a bit large so I have to compress it using 7z.

Thanx handoko, that can come handy for low resolution rendering of the icon.

Thanks. And yes, I will make the paint dots bigger as in the svg of handoko.

The svg looks really good.

Edit. I made the paint dots bigger, but the effect isnt shown in lower resolutions, I can try to make a fake light to enhance the effect.

But always you can do a render changing color, textures or anything else.

I like the icon, but I like the "cartoonish" style from old icon too, maybe some mixture between the new icon and Handoko icon idea can be nice.
Umm also the perspective can looks better if you make this a bit more similar with original icon?

I'm not sure, maybe with some simpler wood texture I like a bit more
but well I'm not a expert it's just my opinion

That can be a good idea, is simple to achieve, changing the texture and angle of camera or rotation of elements is really simple.

Personally i like the wooden texture. I feel like the cartoonish style comes from the shape of the paint drops. Though that would be complicated to do I suppose

Nice. I am trying to open the file in Blender but the materials do not seem to work. Everything is black. To fix it, I need to go into the material tab and set the surface type. At first it is "undefined".

Available version on Linux Mint of Blender is 2.76b.

Hi, ok. The problem is the version of Blender, because Im using the latest that has a new kind of material called Principled, thats the more realistic one.

I'm downloading it to fix the material, will not be the same but something like that.

Edit: It doesn't look good with the old materials, in fact to replicate the Principled material, we need to combine with "mix shaders" glossy and diffuse materials, but It doesn't look the same, due to the falloff (if I'm right is the light around the objects). The result will be a complex shader.

Finally I installed blender version 2.79 using snap.

I moved around the drops to look a bit like the original icon.

Though there's room for improvement. Drops are not aligned with the palette and the sky blue drop is too thin.

Ok, I get the idea, I will try to do that changes for tomorrow =)

Edit: Here it is, the shadow is added by hand, but needs a better one that doesn't go further the edges.
