display of Lazarus icons in XFCE panel in MX Linux
« on: August 09, 2018, 02:31:35 pm »
hi,
recently i switched to MX Linux - https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=mx (based on Debian) as i felt it was faster than Linux MINT XFCE (based on Ubuntu) and still uses XFCE and even old school run levels but with newest kernel.
unfortunately apps and Lazarus windows are shown only as icons in the panel as per attached.
i was wondering if it could be considered a minor change in color or small letter in the icons to easily pick the needed window and not use the hint.
what do you guys think i could do?
thank you

I have noticed that since I recently installed Lazarus from SVN rather than my package manager, I see a generic icon in the doc (Ubuntu Mate 18.04).

I reckon this is because that build (as me rather than root) did not put icons in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/*   Lets try and do that manually ....

Nope, needs more than putting images/ide_icon48x48.png into /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/lazarus.png - might need a desktop file too.

Further research is indicated ....
