Backup Lazarus IDE Config
« on: February 22, 2018, 11:33:27 am »
Hello all,
Any time I install Lazarus from Trunk using FPCDeluxe, I do customize it using instructions from https://github.com/FlKo/LazarusDockedDesktops but it's stressful repeating this process everytime I reinstall it on another PC.
Does anyone know if it is possible to backup and restore Lazarus IDE Configurations easily?

I do not use FPCDeluxe. But I know on Linux you can backup Lazarus' settings simply copy/paste and rename [home]./lazarus folder.

Hi!

With (normal) Lazarus secondary installation, installer ask for the config directory.

With fpcupdeluxe, the default config path (see from created shortcut):

Quote
--pcp="C:\fpcupdeluxe\config_lazarus"

The config dir contain the all config of Lazarus. Set your IDE options, then compare with original, and you can see the changes (what files changed).

(normal) Lazarus secondary install contain this file: lazarus.cfg, contain, for example:
Quote
--primary-config-path=C:\lazarus\config
