[SOLVED] Which BGRA control to render game levels?
« on: February 12, 2018, 04:48:43 pm »
I'm thinking of using BGRA to make my 2D levels for a platform game, basically I would draw the sprites and graphics etc on the control but not sure which control would be best suited for this in terms of performance etc?

Available options that I see are:

TBGLVirtualScreen (under OpenGL tab)
TBGRAGraphicControl
TBGRAVirtualScreen
TBGPanel

OpenGL always sounds like something I need as well but it's rather tricky to setup and I see no obvious way of loading bitmaps etc otherwise I would possibly use TOpenGLControl. Instead I think BGRA could help, just not sure which control is best suited for this?

Thanks

Ah my apologies, I realised there are demos in the Test folders which can likely help me since I am not all that familiar with these controls at all.

Try bgragames, there is a tilemap editor and usage of tilemap
https://github.com/bgrabitmap/bgragames

All OpenGL with BGRABitmap.
If you use BGRAControls please donate
