Problem with Components
« on: December 05, 2017, 10:49:25 pm »
1.6.2 L, FPC 3.0.0, Raspbian Linux.

With both new projects and example projects, Components cannot be added. When I click on a TButton for example, there is a quick flash.  Dropping it on the form does nothing.  Neither does drag and drop.

The Google oracle seems ignorant of this "feature."

Any help is appreciated.

Until some one that knows the linux environment or had the same problem comes along to give you a more definitive answer simple don't use the component palette. Select the menu View\Components (Ctrl+alt+P) type in the the component you are looking for in the editor on top select it on the list below (use the arrow keys) and press enter (or double click the item) then place it on the form.

Personally I haven't used the component palette for the last couple of years I only use the above list.

Don't have the "why" but updated to 1.6.4 and a later fpc version (don't have that machine on right now).   This fixed my problem.  Could have been a bad install source.
