TIOBE Index Nov 2017 Delphi/Object Pascal in the Top 10
« on: November 20, 2017, 02:11:00 pm »
Hi there everyone,

I just looked up the TIOBE index and I discovered that Delphi/Object Pascal went from number 16 in Nov 2016 to number 9 in Nov 2017.  It's highest position since 2001 when it was at number 6 :D

https://www.tiobe.com/tiobe-index/

Impressive!!!

Object Pascal programmers should get rid of their "component fetish" especially with the non-visuals.

I also can't help the fact that me - and many others! - complained about the fact that they separated several flavors of Object Pascal and didn't do the same for C and C++.
They have seen the light.... (Now playing James Brown)

I listen to Jimi Hendrix at times, his twisted music reminds me of some code I wrote years ago and
doing a recent review of it, making me wonder where my mind was at the time!

Note that if you factor out script kiddies and garbage collected languages Object Pascal is third..... :D :D :D behind C and it's poor son C++.
And possibly also last..... :o :( >:(

Oh dear. I wonder what me listening to Joy Division means for my code then. Depressing. Isolation!

I was listening Brighter Than a Thousand Suns - Reach Out to Me [HD], during making some ATSynEdit parts, great music.
