Ransomware
« on: October 25, 2017, 03:00:19 pm »
This morning, Sophos  Home AV reported
"CryptoGuard detected ransomware in W:\LazFiles\fpcbootstrap\svn\bin\svn.exe". Then it blocked svn.exe.

This was a fresh installation of Lazarus. This is possibly why I am unable to get the Laz4Android project to build/compile.

Has anyone else seen this?

Have you tried
https://virustotal.com/
https://www.metascan-online.com/

and then your AV distributor probably has a support site, where you can upload false positives. So they can check and correct their scanner.

And if the file turns out clean, then you can also create an exception in your AV.

Got blocked completely by BitDefender recently (http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,38495.msg261551.html). It ended with uninstallation of BitDefender and relying of Windows Defender.

Seems unlikely that BitDefender blocks mainstream software like svn. I suggest you be careful.
That said, at least scan with something like Windows Defender or AVG.
Imnhso Windows Defender is indeed a good advice.
Object Pascal programmers should get rid of their "component fetish" especially with the non-visuals.

Each build is different, and, since it is a bootstrap package, not installed by an installer.

Last time I checked, subversion is not a bootstrap build, but a standard executable. He chokes on svn.exe
