Component Palette Empty?
« on: June 25, 2017, 08:33:20 pm »
Hi All and thanks in advance!

I have just installed ZeosDB which all went well, however upon Lazarus rebuild, I loose at the component icons/tabs at the top (just has a single blank panel)?

What can I do to get them back?

PS: When I use View->Components, a new window opens with them all in there (including Zeos) but they are not accessible???

Happened to me too after installing Zeos. If I remember right, you get the palette back from Tools->Options->Component Palette and find the "Restore Defaults" button. If it is "greyed", move some tabs around so it gets enabled and then click it.

 Uninstalling Zeos might also work. :-I

So I once again installed Zeos and again have an empty palette. I tried moving some things about then restoring defaults but no change!

I can remove Zeos but that would be pointless as I need it..but I also need the palette...

I have Zeos installed without this problem, so it is possible. But I use Zeos SVN version 7.2 instead of 7.1.4. You could try that: https://sourceforge.net/p/zeoslib/code-0/HEAD/tree/trunk/

I'm out of ideas, but have some patience, there should be someone here that knows how to restore the Component Palette.

@JasonLugg
Make sure "Palette is visible" checkbox is checked(Tools-->Options-->Component Palette)

Make sure "Palette is visible" checkbox is checked(Tools-->Options-->Component Palette)
... and make sure you don't have package "educationlaz" installed.
Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux 64-bit.

Nah. Print out the documentation and the wiki and put under your pillow... 8-) Works all the time... :D
