OpenDialog hungsup whole virtual machine
« on: June 21, 2017, 02:08:24 pm »
Hi!
Lazarus trunc, W10 x64 on Virtualbox.
Since I upgraded W7 to W10 applications written in Lazarus slow down or even hung-up the system when I am opening the TOpenDialog or TSaveDialog component. It is especially visible in runtime environment.
I think that it must be related to any system setting like thumbnails or network drives but I cannot find the problem and fix it. The same applications developped under Linux or on Windows but already compiled and starded outside of Lazarus environment works fine. Any suggestions?
Ubuntu 23.10 x64, / Windows 11 PL - latest updates
Lazarus 2.2.6, FPC 3.2.2

No not really, but I recognized there is a different opening speed if I use an OPEN DIALOG on W7x64 inside a x86-EXE. That's a lot slower than using a x64-EXE.
Even on my Celeron Notebook (1,7 Ghz x1) with only 500 MB RAM the OPEN DIALOG starts faster with a x86-EXE.
Windows 7 Pro (x64 Sp1) & Windows XP Pro (x86 Sp3).
