Disapointed with dbase samples sql connections and etc...
« on: April 03, 2007, 01:31:17 am »
I'm unable to find an effective way to work like I used to with D6+Paradox.
Let me explain myself:
1* In D6+pdx, used to have more than one db field as index
2* used sql queries on those paradox db's
3* multiple users support
all the above just adding ttable, tdatasource and tquery...

I can't (becouse i'm a newbie in lazarus) do the same with lazarus+dbase. Can't also find "decent" examples, (for not saying any examples at all).
also couldn't put to work dbase tablelevel 7 or 25, or float numbers with 2 decimals (where is the precision??)

I also try...:
to add sqlite support to lazarus and allways something's wrong (some sqlite.dll missing)
to connect mysql (5.0)... some libmysql.dll can't find... (I put that lib in win\sys32... in current project dir... but didn´t work)
...

I'm a kind of frustrated... could anyone point me in the right direction?
I don´t need too much... just need to accomplish the 1* 2* 3* points above mentioned.

sorry about my english... and thanks in advance...

antonio

Search on wiki pages and you'll find what you are looking for. If you find any bugs in components, please report it to BugTracker.

Me again.
I have discovered zeoslib that fits exactly and "plus" my expectations. And there is/are too much information! ;)
All my frustrations has been changed for happyness.
If anyone have my problem I recommend Lazarus + Zeoslib + {Firebird DB + Firerobin}
Thanks to all.
