Random uncatchable access violations with threads
« on: January 24, 2017, 10:01:12 pm »
Hello,

I see random crashes in my Win32 console application which are giving me sleepless nights. There is already a bug ticket for this issue but I would like to attract a bigger audience so I post it here again. Maybe anybody of you discovers a defect in my code or can point to suspicious RTL code so the FPC team is able to fix that bug.

There's a sample project attached to the issue that crashes almost every time.

I would like to ask for your help.

 - Does the sample project crash on your machine too? I tested on Windows 7 and Windows 10. It's unstable on both systems.
 - Do you see any chance of a race condition in my code that could lead to an AV?
 - Did you ever face a similar issue? How did you solve it? Is there any workaround?

Thanks,
Wosi
