Associating project with second Lazarus in Linux
« on: January 12, 2017, 01:07:13 pm »
On doubleclick, I want my projects to be opened by another Lazarus installation than was installed by Synaptic. The right configdir must be used. Anyone knows the steps?
Lazarus trunk / fpc 3.2.2 / Kubuntu 22.04 - 64 bit

What DE? KDE has file associations in its system settings, you can put there how a .lpi must be opened, write exactly the path and arguments to lazarus executable and you're good to go. I don't have enough experience with other DEs, but behind the scene they're all using the same XDG standards. Read xdg-mime documentation for further info.

Its Debian with XFCE. XDG seems to be the ticket, thanks for the tip.
