\Volumes permisions change in Sierra an issue?
« on: December 27, 2016, 10:16:11 pm »
I am still running El Capitan, but one of my users is reporting issues with writing files. I figured it was just a permissions error, but digging around on the web I found:

https://derflounder.wordpress.com/2016/09/21/macos-sierras-volumes-folder-is-no-longer-world-writable/

In Sierra the permissions on the /Volumes folder have changed, it is no longer world writable. It sounds like it could be an issue with temporary files. Does anyone know if Free Pascal writes temporary files into \Volumes?

Thanks!

Cheers,

No, FPC does not do that.

Thank you Jonas,

That alleviates my concern. I guess I am overly paranoid. With every new OS X release (I can barely keep up the names), I am concerned something will break.
